Jacqueline Fernandez, a Sri Lankan actor from Bahrain's Manama was brought up in the multicultural home of a family. Jacqueline's father Elroy is from Sri Lanka (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother Kim, a Malaysian. She has two younger brothers and one older sister. The family have moved to Bahrain in 1980s due to the Lankan turmoil and she was raised in Bahrain. The schooling she completed was within Bahrain and she won the Scholarship to an education at University of Sydney. There she earned a Media and Communications degree. She went to in the Berlitz School of Foreign Languages that helped her learn French, Arabic and Spanish. She was also crowned Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6th of 2006, and then competed at Miss Universe 2006. In the wake of her victory in 2006, Miss Sri Lanka win, Padukone stepped into the world of television as host of a TV show on Sri Lankan business named Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the child of the badminton players Prakash Padukone) was born and raised in Bangalore. While still a teenager, Padukone was a participant in numerous national badminton tournaments. However, she resigned from her passion for the game when she decided to pursue a career as a professional model. Padukone's mother tongue is Konkani. She is Mangalorean in her origins. Her lineage hails from Padukone village, which is located in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District in the state of Karnataka, India. The father of her, Prakash Padukone, is an old badminton player who is of international repute, and her mother works as a travel agent.
